Plywood by THEBAULT
The THEBAULT Group is both an industrial group and a family business. The THEBAULT Group is France's leading manufacturer of plywood panels, accounting for almost 50% of national production, and ranks among the top 5 European manufacturers.
A wide range of plywood products
The THEBAULT Group manufactures plywood panels from peeled Maritime Pine, Poplar and Okoumé logs. The TEBOPIN, TEBOPLUS and TEBOPLY ranges, with their many technical variants, enable us to tackle the most demanding applications with confidence. The resulting plywoods are used in a wide variety of sectors, including timber and traditional construction, the marine industry, the transport industry, fittings and furnishings.
Sophisticated manufacturing
Plywood is made from sheets of wood obtained by peeling logs. These sheets of wood, also known as plies or veneers, are then glued and cross-jointed. Their odd number gives plywood panels good stability.
This construction of wood sheets arranged orthogonally to one another makes it possible to distinguish plywood precisely from any other wood-based panel. The edge of plywood is made up of a superimposition of lines, or wood strata. It has a very specific, highly recognizable appearance.
It gives plywood high technical characteristics and good impact resistance.
Wood, a naturally renewable resource
Using wood from sustainably managed forests actively contributes to forest preservation.
Creating a market value for wood from forests is an incentive for governments to preserve them. In Europe, forest area continues to grow, gaining 510,000 hectares per year. Only 64% of this annual growth is exploited, leaving a significant margin between wood consumption and forest cover in Europe (source: CEI-Bois).
France and Gabon, where the species used by the THEBAULT Group originate, are fully aware of the value of their forest heritage and the need to preserve it. The international PEFC and FSC® certifications, as well as the forestry program set up in Gabon by the local authorities, guarantee the use of wood from sustainably managed forests.
Plywood, an environmentally friendly material
Wood and its derivative, plywood, sequester carbon (CO²) and require much less energy to produce than other building materials based on steel, aluminum, mineral or synthetic materials.
The timber processed at THEBAULT Group sites comes from the lower part of the tree bole, cut into logs. This higher-quality wood is particularly well-suited to noble uses, such as peeling for the manufacture of TeboPin plywood.
