Construction progress at the TEBOLVL® plant

17/03/2025

With the warm weather approaching and the construction of the future TEBOLVL® plant halfway through, it's time to take stock of what's been achieved and what's still to come, right up to the project's scheduled handover in the fourth quarter of 2025.

Interview with Claire ARCHIMBAUD, Architect in charge of construction

CURRENT STATUS

Despite a number of weather contingencies affecting the pouring of paving slabs, the initial schedule has been kept to. All production buildings will be water- and airtight by next April. The "at the same time" organization principle has enabled the various modules making up the production line to continue to be installed as the site progresses. This choice has enabled the technical teams to finalize and test the installation of the various sub-assemblies for debarking, peeling, drying, etc. The progress of the site and its fittings has enabled the first visitors to be welcomed by the Prefect of the département, Mr Yvan CORDIER and his team, and the site to be presented to future employees as part of the recruitment drive currently underway.

UPCOMING DATES

Two major milestones lie ahead in the coming weeks. The installation of the future boiler is a logistical and technical challenge. This spring will also see the start of work on the future offices. This 900 m2, 1-storey, wood-frame building will feature LVL and engineered wood. The interior design will showcase the qualities of THEBAULT plywood. Another upcoming highlight is the arrival of the peeling unit, scheduled for the coming weeks, which will complete the entire production line.

ENVIRONMENTAL DIMENSION OF THE WORKSITE

The THEBAULT Group is committed to implementing and respecting various environmental measures to preserve biodiversity during the construction phase (delimitation of the construction site footprint, marking of sensitive areas, avoidance of construction periods, reduction of soil pollution risks, reduction of noise pollution, etc.). To this end, an environmental charter has been drawn up to specify the measures to be respected by all contractors. It should also be noted that a hedge planted with local species has been planted along the boundaries of the site over a length of more than one kilometer to promote biodiversity.

QUALITY OF LIFE FOR TEAMS

Our latest-generation plant has also been designed to provide optimum comfort for production and management teams. The roofs of the buildings feature a light-colored coating that reflects the sun's rays, thus limiting heat under the roof. Numerous opening windows have been installed to promote natural air circulation. Finally, reinforced insulation also helps to limit the effect of heat or cold peaks. The same care was taken in the construction of the office building to guarantee the comfort of users and visitors.
